On Saturday 26th November we had our second Messy Church - creative service for families with children. This time the theme of Messy Church was Advent.  Children and parents enjoyed craft activities, time of worship and prayer and sharing light lunch together.

Visit to Messy Church Greenhill Methodist Church and inspiration for us

Pete, Daniela and me found great inspiration through visiting Messy Church Easter event at Greenhill Methodist Church in April. And we were very much encouraged through the discussions with Marlene there. Thank you! And now we are in the process of discernemnt in our parish about trying Messy Church events from September throughout some bigger events during the year (Harvest, Advent, Christmas, Easter, Pentecost). We are very encouraged to see how aims of Messy Church link with our  church vision and mission.

and here are some photos from our visit to Greenhill Methodist Church, yes you can see we took some inspiration there for our Good Friday creative morning :)

Pentecost Creative Morning 11th June 2011

Creative morning at our church on Saturday 11th June 2011

We came together for morning of crafts and worship this Saturday:

Story was about Zippity Zebra on a windy day :) that Pete told using the book

And after some more time of craft Pete let us watch this video clip:

and told briefly story of Pentecost using some of the crafts that children and adults made... story of frightened disciples, facing inwards and through Pentecost event, being filled by the Holy Spirit, disciples able to face outwards and go out into the world....

and we sang happy birthday the church and had a birthday cake :)

Happy birthday to church! Happy Pentecost day to you all! And big thank you to everyone who helped yesterday during the morning and to everyone who came to join us :)
